York

• 14:25 – Haffner 11/4 (1pt)

Haffner

Finished half a length off of Dr Rascal which is pretty solid form considering he placed a short head in front of Al Hudaiba, who’s rated 108 and a further three lengths in front of Pikachua.

The colt made all at Newmarket in early July too and under Ryan Moore once again, this Justify two-year-old looks promising in the familiar green silks of P Brant, Coolmore, Westerberg and B Smith.

Christmas Day

Beat Maltese Cross by nearly three lengths at Epsom in the Derby, clearly thriving on the soft ground and sharp track.

Here will be quite a different challenge but his form was franked a little further with a close finish to the star Benvenuto Cellini at the Curragh in the Irish Derby.

Derby winners in recent years typically don’t tend to run on well afterwards, but he’s surely too good here to lose.

Ombudsman

There’s just a couple of horses that Godolphin can really rely on and one of those was the now retired Trawlerman and the other is Ombudsman.

At five-years-old he’s taken home a staggering £4.7million in earnings – winning nine of his 12 races and placing second in the remaining three.

He’s currently on a hattrick of wins and looking to make it four in a row after demolishing the field at Royal Ascot in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes, that saw him rise to a massive rating of 132.

He’s among the top-rated horses in the entire world and it’s hard to imagine even giving away 7lb to the up and comer Constitution River that he would lose such a race.

Ombudsman won this race last year by over three lengths and is a worthy favourite.
