Shilo Sanders eyes new overseas career as dad Deion addresses ‘altercation’ with female reporter
Deion Sanders has spoken out on the incident involving his son Shilo and Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot.
After Cabot reported that she felt veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson should be named as new head coach Todd Monken’s starting signal caller over Shedeur Sanders, elder brother Shilo didn’t hold back.

“Go make a sandwich Mary,” he posted on social media at the start of May, with his sexist comments going viral.
He later went live on a stream where he doubled down on his comments, suggesting that the veteran Browns reporter should stick to reporting the facts and not generate opinions.
Now father, and NFL legend Deion has weighed in, of course to defend his sons.
“We don’t talk about nobody,” Sanders said on The Barbershop with Garrett Bush. “We don’t do nothing to nobody.
“I know Shilo had a little altercation that he spoke up for his brother. You’ve got to understand, man, that’s his brother. And God bless Mary Kay’s soul, that’s his brother.
“I mean, she said something, he said something, like media is different today. I know a lot of people don’t respect the old school.
“I do, because I grew up in that era that we didn’t have a say so. … But Shilo spoke up for his brother, and he was ridiculed for that.”
Sanders’ NFL career over before it began
While Shedeur was drafted – eventually – to the Browns with the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Shilo did not hear his name called out.
The former Colorado Buffaloes star safety did earn a training camp opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and at one point, it looked as though he had impressed enough to earn a contract.
That was until he punched an opponent in a pre-season game and got himself axed.

Almost nine months on from that incident, and it appears that the 26-year-old has feasted his eyes on what could be next for him should he never get to follow in his father’s footsteps and step on the gridiron again.
Having grown his YouTube channel following to over 304,000 subscribers and counting, as well as having mass followings on both Instagram and TikTok, Shilo is not satisfied not being involved in professional sport in some capacity.
Instead, he has his eyes on making it as either a professional boxer or basketball star.
“If I don’t get picked up by a [NFL] team, I’m either going to take boxing serious, or I’m gonna try to play basketball overseas,” Shilo said on a recent stream.
Other YouTubers have gone on to pursue sporting careers, the most notable being that of Jake Paul becoming a boxer, and his brother Logan being a prominent WWE superstar.
Even KSI is known as a former professional boxer, but now owns English soccer team Dagenham & Redbridge.
