Shane Lowry stands alone.

The Irishman watched his tee shot on number 6 at Augusta National get better and better and better… until it was as good as it could possibly be. Lowry recorded an ace at 6 on Saturday and in the process moved himself into a tie for second at the Masters.

It is a big deal whenever a player has a hole in one. That goes without saying. Recording an ace at Augusta National during the Masters Tournament is an extra level of special, and the list of people who have done so is not exactly long.

The thing about that list is… Shane Lowry is on it. Lowry famously aced the famous 16th at Augusta National during the 2016 playing of the Masters. Having a pair of aces at the most famous golf course in the world is pretty incredible.

Beyond the fact that this is very special… it is literally ground that has never been broken. Justin Ray noted that Lowry is officially the first player to ever record multiple holes-in-one in Masters history.

Good for Shane Lowry. We can’t put it past him to have a third at any point in the future, obviously.
