Scottie Scheffler surging up Masters leaderboard with massive day 3
Day 2 of the Masters was a rough one for Scottie Scheffler. He ended Friday going two over, making him even entering the third day of the tournament. Scheffler has seemingly found his groove on Saturday, though, as he is surging up the leaderboards with his brilliant play.
Scottie Scheffler, who is 29 years old, is -6 through 12 holes on Day 3. He set himself up with a birdie putt with a brilliant shot on the first hole of Amen Corner. Scheffler followed it up by sinking his sixth birdie of the day on Hole 11. At the time of making that putt, Scheffler rose to the top of the Masters leaderboards to tie for second place.
Six under for the day and six under for the Tournament. #themasters

It’s been quite an impressive day for the four-time Majors champion. Especially considering he went from being 25th in the leaderboards to being tied for second place through 12 holes on Day 3. Scheffler will need some help from Rory McIlroy, though, as the Irish native began Saturday with a six-stroke lead.
This turnaround just goes to show you that golf is a marathon, not a sprint. Especially considering Scottie Scheffler hit the ball in the water twice during Day 2 of the Masters. Even so, Scheffler is simply proving why he is currently the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world.
Scottie Scheffler is seeking his third career Masters win, as he secured the Green Jacket in 2022 and 2024. He also has major titles from the British Open Championship (2025) and the PGA Championship (2025) under his belt. Scheffler won a gold medal in the 2024 Summer Olympics as well.
