Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy lead the odds at the PGA Championship

Many of golf’s biggest names are in the spotlight this week as the PGA Championship heads to Aronimink Golf Club just outside of Philadelphia. 

The latest FanDuel Sportsbook PGA Championship Win Only odds are littered with former major champions with two of the sport’s biggest names leading the board. As Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy continue to chase majors, they’ll be faced with a deep field filled with stars.  

The defending champion, Scheffler (+480) is somehow winless since his opening event of the season at the American Express in January. But with three consecutive runner-up finishes — including the Masters in April — Scheffler is still playing at an elite level. 

With Aronimink featuring only two Par 5s and 12 Par 4s, Scheffler, the PGA Tour’s leader in Par 4 scoring, should once again find himself in contention for another major championship. Sluggish starts have plagued Scheffler at times this season and his opening rounds will be worth monitoring.

Right behind Scheffler is reigning two-time Masters champion Rory McIlroy (+850). While McIlroy hasn’t earned a PGA Championship since 2014, winning the career grand slam last year seems to have eased McIlroy’s approach to playing the biggest events. Playing with supreme confidence, McIlroy is back to hunting majors again. 

The highest player on the board without a major championship, Cameron Young (+1200) could be knocking on the door after recent wins at the PLAYERS Championship and Cadillac Championship. Young is second only to Scheffler in total strokes gained on the PGA Tour this season and is consistently playing at a high level.

Looking to complete the third leg of a career grand slam, Jon Rahm (+1500) enters the PGA Championship with something to prove. Rahm hasn’t finished in the top five of the last seven PGA Championships after last year’s T8 finish. Twice a winner with LIV Golf this season, Rahm was a disappointing T38 at Augusta National last month.

Xander Schauffele (+1600) is looking to regain the form that helped him capture two major championships in 2024. With top-ten finishes at both the PLAYERS and Masters, Schauffele is still regularly in contention at the biggest events. 

Looking to snap a streak of two consecutive missed cuts at the PGA Championship, Ludvig Aberg (+1800) is playing at a high level with five top tens in his last six starts. Similar to Young, Aberg’s consistency tee-to-green stands out this season and should be a course fit at Aronimink. 

Already capturing three wins and a runner-up finish at the PLAYERS so far this season, Matt Fitzpatrick (+2200) is hoping to add a second major championship to his profile. Missing the cut at the Masters last month, Bryson DeChambeau (+2200) will be looking for redemption. DeChambeau has finished in the top four of the last three PGA Championships and seems to favor the courses the event selects.
