Friday was likely not Scottie Scheffler’s favorite Masters round of his life.

The world number one began the day 2-under for the tournament and finished the day at even par with the weekend still to go. Obviously this means that he played the most famous golf course in the world over par on Friday… something he almost never does.

As Scottie tapped in on 18 it was noted by Jim Nantz on the call (on ESPN which was weird given it was Nantz’s voice… the Masters broadcast is truly a unique thing) that Friday was Scottie’s third round over par round in 26 competitive rounds at the Masters.

That is 11.54% of the time of you are curious. Half of a quarter. Approximately.

It is rare to see Scottie Scheffler not dominating the Masters and therefore even more of an anomaly for him to not be in red figures. Augusta National can get anyone.

For what it’s worth Scheffler is still even entering the weekend and as history has shown he can make any kind of magic happen. This PGA Tour season specifically is no stranger to this as Scheffler has struggled a bit (for his standards) before rallying on the weekend.

Perhaps that is what is in store this week. We will see.
