Ricky Hatton’s son to make boxing return in tribute to late father on show featuring Kell Brook
Campbell Hatton has announced he will fight again on the show dedicated to his father in Dubai.
Hatton’s father and boxing legend Ricky passed away in September last year aged 46, just a couple of months before his own comeback fight against Eisa Al Dah.

Kell Brook elected to return to face Al Dah himself, in an incredible tribute to the former world champion.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Ricky Hatton Foundation, his charity that is focusing on helping those with mental health struggles.
It will now take place on April 11 and will feature some of Manchester’s finest talent.
That includes Hatton’s son Campbell, who will return to the ring for the first time since announcing his early retirement at the age of 24.
He has announced he will feature on the bill with an opponent yet to be confirmed.
‘The Hurricane’ wrote on social media: “Looking forward to getting back in the ring in memory of my dad out in Dubai.
“There is a public workout at the gym today if anybody wants to come and show their support.”
It will be an emotional return, with the young Hatton likely to be cornered by his uncle Matthew as he had been for large parts of his career.
Campbell Hatton’s return
Hatton turned over as a professional under the huge legacy of his father, who fought the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao during his stellar career.
He won 14 consecutive professional fights, albeit not all convincingly, but came up against James Flint when reaching Central Area title level.

Unfortunately for the young rising star, he was beaten twice by Flint, being outpointed both times in March and October 2024.
Hatton retired last July to instead get a full-time job as a solar-panel installer, leaving his hopes of reaching his dad’s heights behind.
But after his father’s death, the now 25-year-old has been back training again and keeping fit in the gym, clearly with a view to return to commemorate his iconic father.
When speaking to talkSPORT.com last May before his passing, Hatton’s father Ricky had explained why his son needed time away from boxing.
He said: “He’s having a tough time at the minute. He lost both of his fights, both close fights.
“It knocked his confidence a little bit, so he decided to take a break.
“I thought he’d lost the first fight, and he thought he’d won.
“But the second fight, we thought he’d just pinched, so when he didn’t get it, it was a bit of a blow.”
