Premier League Darts – Week 8 prediction
Luke Littler won his second night of Premier League Darts in three weeks last time out, pulling off a staggering 6-5 win in the final after having been 5-0 down against Gerwyn Price.
Victory for the teenager saw him close the gap on league leader Jonny Clayton in the standings, now only three points behind the Welshman and with a four point lead over his fellow finalist last week.
Littler will head to Germany in confident mood as a result of his victory last week, as he takes on Stephen Bunting in the third quarter final of the night.
Bunting has struggled in his second consecutive year competing in the Premier League, currently sat down in seventh in the standings with only two quarter final victories in seven weeks, but did storm to victory on Week 4 in Belfast to help his points tally out considerably.
The winner of the all-English quarter final on Thursday will take on the winner of Price versus Premier League rookie Gian van Veen.
Price currently sits third in the standings following victory in Antwerp in Week 2 and last week’s run to the final, while van Veen took to the Premier League like a duck to water, reaching three of the first four finals but hasn’t won a quarter final tie since, which leaves the Dutchman down in sixth place.
The action will get underway in the Uber Arena on Thursday with first placed Clayton taking on last placed Josh Rock.
Clayton has had a point to prove in the Premier League having been overlooked in the last two years of the competition, and currently boasts a three point lead at the top of the tree after victories in weeks 3 and 6, and winning six out of his seven quarter final matches.
Rock heads to Germany looking for his first win of the campaign, the Northern Irish rookie sat rock bottom of the pile having lost all seven of his quarter final ties, but has hit the tournament’s only nine-darter this year, doing so in his home event in Belfast in Week 4.
The winner of the opening match will play the winner of Luke Humphries v Michael van Gerwen in the first semi final, the two former Premier League and world champions sat fourth and fifth in the table respectively, either side of the threshold to reach the play-offs at the O2 Arena in London.
Defending champion Humphries has won five of his seven quarter finals but has only made it past the last four on one occasion so far, but did storm to victory in the Belgian Darts Open on the European Tour last weekend so will be in confident mood crossing the border.
Seven-time Premier League champion van Gerwen stormed to victory on the opening night of this year’s campaign and was the runner up the following week, but has only reached the semi final on one occasion since.
Lukes Littler and Humphries are the only two averaging over 100 in the Premier League this year and are both in confident mood ahead of Thursday night, the former having won in Dublin last week and the latter having won in the Belgian Open over the weekend, so it’s difficult to foresee anyone but these two meeting in Thursday’s final.

Back to winning ways for the defending champion
Only Littler has been averaging more than Humphries throughout this year’s Premier League campaign.
The defending champion will make the trip to the German capital in confident mood though having stormed to victory in the Belgian Open on the European Tour of the weekend.
‘Cool Hand’ go the better of van Gerwen and Clayton in the semi final and final respectively in Wieze, who coincidentally will be his two opponents en route to this week’s Premier League final, provided Rock doesn’t pull off an upset against table topping Clayton.
- Luke Humphries to win Week 8 at 4/1 with BetMGM
Littler to the max
‘The Nuke’ has won two of the last three weeks of Premier League action, and will back himself to get past Bunting, then probably Price, on Thursday to reach the final.
The 19-year-old has hit more 180s than any other player in the Premier League this season, with 54 across his 14 matches, at least eight more than anyone else.
- Luke Littler to hit the most 180s on the night at EVS with BetMGM
