Phillies’ Christopher Sanchez makes ‘goosebumps’ admission after shutting out Pirates
Christopher Sanchez expressed high praises for his efforts on the mound in the Philadelphia Phillies’ 6-0 shutout win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday evening.
Sanchez is going through the sixth season of his MLB career with the Phillies. He has made his way up the ranks as one of the team’s most reliable starting pitchers, delivering solid performances as he helped the team achieve regular-season success.
Going into this game, Sanchez has earned three complete games throughout his career. Two of them happened in 2024 and the third took place in 2025, as the opportunity arose again with Sanchez playing in all nine innings to close out Game 2 of the series.
Sanchez reflected on the achievement after the game on the broadcast. Striking out 13 batters while conceding just six hits, the pitcher felt goosebumps with how remarkable he was being throughout his time on the mound.
“It’s just amazing. I mean, I had goosebumps when I mentioned it. Just really happy, and had a lot of home fan support here at the stadium today,” Sanchez said through his translator.
