The England international has endured a very difficult season after returning to Man City before the start of the campaign.

Trafford rejoined the club from Burnley in a £27million deal, expecting to be Pep Guardiola‘s first-choice stopper.

However, City later swooped to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, who immediately displaced Trafford between the sticks.

He has not made a Premier League appearance since August, but he impressed against Arsenal in their 2-0 Carabao Cup final win.

Trafford also made his senior England debut against Uruguay last month.

Premier League trio interested

Now, the 23-year-old could be on his way to another new club, as Villa could make an approach for him if Emiliano Martinez leaves the club, with Manchester United and Inter Milan linked.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ interest will hinge on their survival in the Premier League amid their ongoing relegation battle.

The City academy graduate is seen as a candidate to succeed Guglielmo Vicario in goal for the north London side.

Vicario has been linked with an exit in the summer, with Italy legend Walter Zenga urging Inter to sign his compatriot.

talkSPORT understands Newcastle are also interested in Trafford.

Eddie Howe‘s side saw their move hijacked by City last summer after targeting the former Burnley man.

Newcastle went on to sign Aaron Ramsdale on a season-long loan from Southampton.

Although the deal for Ramsdale includes an option to buy, Nick Pope will enter the final year of his contract at St. James’ Park this summer.

As a result, the Magpies could once again look to bring in a new goalkeeper.

Other options

Tottenham have also identified Bart Verbruggen as a potential target alongside Trafford.

The Dutch international previously played under new Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton.

Bringing in Trafford would be a statement signing

Bayern Munich are also monitoring Verbruggen, who has attracted interest from across Europe with his Seagulls displays.

talkSPORT understands Brighton are relaxed about the situation, though, thanks to Carl Rushworth’s form on loan at Coventry City.

Although, Coventry are set to hold talks with the Seagulls over a permanent move for the Englishman this summer.

Frank Lampard‘s side were just promoted to the Premier League, claiming the Championship title earlier this week.
