Arsenal vs Chelsea quick tips

Arsenal vs Chelsea predictions

The Premier League fixture computer has handed us a real treat on matchday three, as Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

The defending champions are the favourites to win the title this season too, and nothing we have seen so far suggests they are about to give up their crown without a fight.

Arsenal showed different sides to their game in the victories over Coventry City (3-0) and Aston Villa (1-0), but on both occasions the outcome was the same: a win and a clean sheet for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Could Chelsea challenge their rivals from across the capital? It is still early days, but they too have started the season brightly.

A 3-2 triumph over Fulham on the opening weekend was followed by a 4-3 defeat of Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.

Chelsea are not exactly following Arsenal’s defence-first template, but their approach has brought them maximum points so far.

However, this is the biggest test of Xabi Alonso’s tenure to date. Chelsea have shown they are comfortable without possession, which is just as well for this trip to Arsenal. We will learn a lot about their credentials on Sunday.

Arsenal vs Chelsea tips

At least one 100 percent record will come to an end when Arsenal face Chelsea.

Gunners still stronger

Arsenal are the best team in the Premier League right now, but they do not have really a single, bona fide superstar.

The strength lies in the collective – and not just the starting XI. Arsenal boast magnificent strength in depth throughout the squad, and that is their primary advantage over the rest of the division.

After three second-place finishes on the bounce, Arsenal showed last season that they do have what it takes to get over the line.

Chelsea will have their moments on Sunday, but Arsenal know how to get results. It is hard to look past the champions in this one.

Chelsea the new entertainers?

With 12 goals in their two games so far, Chelsea have emerged as the Premier League’s new entertainers.

Xabi Alonso may not wish for that tag to stick, but for now his team is putting faith in its attack to make up for clear defensive deficiencies.

Chelsea should tighten up over time, but Alonso may conclude that his best chance of winning at the Emirates is by taking the game to Arsenal.

That is good news for the neutrals, who could be treated to a very enjoyable game this weekend.

Saka looks sharp

There were concerns during the World Cup that Bukayo Saka would need a few weeks to get going this season after a physically demanding campaign last time out.

Yet Saka starred in the third-place play-off and then insisted that he was fit and ready to go.

The England international has made an excellent start to 2026/27, scoring important goals against both Coventry City and Aston Villa.

Saka looked sharp in both games as he resumed his successful partnership down the right with Ben White, who is deputising for the injured Jurrien Timber. Saka is one to watch this weekend.
