Official scorecards show just how dominant Anthony Joshua was in Jake Paul fight

Anthony Joshua was awarded every round of his outing with Jake Paul on the judges’ scorecards.

Joshua was the clear favourite to win their fight due to the disparity between him and Paul in both talent and experience.

Unsurprisingly, he left Paul stunned on the canvas to emerge victorious from their heavyweight clash on December 19.

Although Joshua was tipped for an earlier finish, it wasn’t until the sixth round that he delivered his signature right hand to bring an end to their controversial fight.

While Paul had vowed to knock AJ out in the lead-up to their meeting, he ended up leaving the ring with a double broken jaw instead.

Despite losing brutally, ‘The Problem Child’s claimed he won the opening two rounds of the fight before momentum shifted against him.

Although the official judges’ scores certainly suggest otherwise.

MMA Fighting have shared the full official scorecards according to David Sutherland, Steve Weisfeld and Michael Tate.

All three had AJ leading Paul at 60-50, which may come as a surprise to the American.

Paul said to his brother Logan Paul on the Impaulsive podcast: “Actually, I won two rounds, then he won two, then I got dropped.

“I was doing good. I just think my cardio, the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring the big people, is different than the 10-ounce gloves. So I was feeling his power more.

“But it was a great experience. I learned a lot in there.”

Paul’s brazen claims have been clearly disproven across the official judges’ tallies, as Joshua was dominating him even prior to the knockdowns

But to the masses, the result makes perfect sense after the referee had to intervene to prompt Paul to actually engage with his opponent instead of running away.

When Paul did finally engage in the action, Joshua was awarded rounds five and six 10-7 by the judges before claiming his victory via stoppage.

What next for Anthony Joshua?

Following his win against Paul, Joshua suggested he would continue his comeback in either February or March.

But on December 29, Joshua sustained injuries in a car accident that killed two of his close friends.

Sina Ghami and Kevin ‘Lateef’ Ayodele were both members of Joshua’s team and tragically lost their lives in the accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Following the incident, AJ was taken to a local hospital for further observation of his injuries.
