NFL rumors: Jeremy Fowler reveals Ty Simpson truth after Dan Orlovsky’s excessive stanning

As many experts project where Alabama football quarterback Ty Simpson will be drafted, the main conversation is around the prospect being a first-round pick or not. While Simpson being drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft is still in question, insider Jeremy Fowler gives insight into how teams are looking at the Crimson Tide star.

In response to another proclamation from ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky about Simpson, who has been a heavy supporter of him being a high draft pick, Fowler would respond. He reports that some NFL teams are “skeptical” about Simpson going within the first 32 picks, but it’s “not based on ability.”

“Some teams are skeptical about Simpson going Round 1, but that’s not based on ability. It’s that they feel Arizona might be able to sit tight at No. 34 and not get jumped. But that’s hardly a guarantee. A ton of teams have done homework on Simpson, from MIA to CLE to PIT to NYJ,” Fowler wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

With the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, it will be revealed what Simpson’s fate looks like, with the Alabama signal-caller potentially finding a new home. However, if he falls out of the first round, Orlovsky would say that the quarterback position is being evaluated incorrectly.

He would say on ESPN’s “Get Up” how the Crimson Tide were “bad” last year around Simpson, citing how poorly ranked the run game and offensive line were, plus the amount of drops from the skill-position players.

“And if everybody wants to live in the world where you’re not going to draft a kid because he had 15 starts. God bless you. You’re allowed to track historical data, lean on that. All I know is, the tape says, he’s no question, at worst around middle of a first round draft pick, and if he’s not tonight, I’ll be the first person to say I was wrong,” Orlovsky said.
