With just weeks left for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, fans across the world received a relief when Neymar was selected into Brazil’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Neymar, currently playing for Santos, has always been a popular and fan favorite player. Rising from a very humble background, Neymar found success early and became a star player for FC Barcelona in Spain and PSG in France. However, following successful runs there, Neymar parted ways and joined Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, where he stayed from 2023 to 2025. While a financially successful move, the transfer ruined his credibility as a player in the big leagues.

Neymar has always been known for playing on the big stages. Despite being Brazil’s lead goal scorer, the 34-year-old’s World Cup selection chances remained doubtful. However, it was his attitude change that flipped Carlo Ancelotti’s mind and put him in the squad.

He is also set to wear the yellow jersey again at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In the 2014 edition, he played 5 matches and scored 4 goals, before his run ended with an injury. In 2018, he played 5 matches and scored 2 goals, and in 2022, he played 3 matches while scoring 2 goals.
