Next Liverpool manager odds: Club legends favourites as Arne Slot’s future in question

Liverpool’s Arne Slot won the league in his first season in charge last year but has suddenly seen a downfall in form that’s resulted in a terrible run of form.

The Reds have already lost more games this season in the Premier League than last year and the losses keep piling up across all competitions too, losing 4-1 at home to PSV in the Champions League has called more fans to question his tenure.

Liverpool sit in 12th position in the table now and have even lost by three goals in each of their last three games in all competitions.

3-0 to Man City, 3-0 to Forest and then 4-1 to PSV on Wednesday night.

That makes it their fifth loss in seven games and some worrying times for fans who were expecting more of the same from their title winning run last season.

Now Arsenal sit 11 points clear already almost out of reach already and it’s not even the busy Christmas period for football yet.

Liverpool’s string of losses started in late September with a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, before going on to lose against Galatasaray, and Chelsea in the space of a week.

But who can replace Slot should he be sacked with this rising number of concerns?

The favourite at one point was none other than his predecessor Jurgen Klopp at 4/1, who has since gone into 3/1.

But it’s another former Liverpool man, Xabi Alonso who is the new favourite at just 5/2.

The Real Madrid manager has been in the La Liga side since May signing a three year contract, so if Liverpool were to sign Alonso it may cost them big after already spending on multiple landmark fee players in the summer.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is also amongst the candidates according to the betting.

The Eagles boss has beaten Liverpool already this season and could be lured to the reigning champions, but is 8/1 for such a move currently.

Bournemouth boss is also up there in contention according to the odds on talkSPORT BET, with a 6/1 chance of moving from the south coast.

The Cherries have lost just three games this season and sit on equal points with Liverpool, so it could be a huge move and shake-up in the Premier League.
