New footage shows Dominik Szoboszlai troll Man United fans with subtle gesture
Dominik Szoboszlai pointed to his Premier League winners’ badge in front of the Manchester United fans after Liverpool’s defeat at Old Trafford.
The Reds suffered a painful 3-2 loss against Man United, as Kobbie Mainoo‘s 77th-minute winner saw Michael Carrick‘s side complete the league double over their bitter rivals.

After going 2-0 down through early goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, Liverpool fought back in the second half.
Szoboszlai pulled one back before Cody Gakpo equalised, but their efforts were undone when Mainoo struck late to seal the points for United.
Victory for the Red Devils saw them clinch Champions League qualification with three games still left to play.
But for Liverpool, this marked yet another setback in a challenging season following their Premier League glory last year.
Defeat at Old Trafford was an 11th in the league for Arne Slot‘s side this term, and means their wait to secure Champions League football continues, as they still need four points to guarantee a top five finish.
Shots fired
The crushing loss left a bitter taste in Liverpool’s mouths, and star midfielder Szoboszlai was in no mood to entertain a jubilant United crowd at full-time.
As the Reds players headed down the tunnel at Old Trafford, the home fans could be heard jeering the opposition players.
In response, Szoboszlai pointed to the gold Premier League winners’ badge on his sleeve, firing straight back at United’s supporters.
While the Red Devils enjoyed victory on the day, the Hungarian was keen to remind them that his side are still reigning league champions for the time being, while United have not triumphed since 2013.
Of course, Szoboszlai isn’t the first player to make this gesture at opposition fans.

In 2024, Leicester icon Jamie Vardy also pointed to the Premier League badge in response to abuse from Tottenham’s supporters.
This also wasn’t the first time that Szoboszlai has been spotted interacting with fans at full-time after defeat in recent weeks.
Following Liverpool’s 4-0 thrashing by Manchester City in the FA Cup, the midfielder was seen remonstrating with his own supporters.
Szoboszlai later apologised for the incident, calling it a ‘misunderstanding’ and insisting he hadn’t meant to take aim at the travelling Reds fans.
Despite a challenging season for Liverpool collectively, Szoboszlai has been a standout performer for the Premier League champions.
The 25-year-old has netted 13 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions, with only Hugo Ekitike ahead of him for the Reds, despite featuring in midfield and out of position at right-back across his 50 appearances.

‘Can we rely on you?’
Defeat to Man United saw Liverpool suffer yet another demoralising blow this season.
An 11th league loss once again saw question marks raised over head coach Slot’s long-term future at Anfield, who has failed to inspire a Premier League title defence of any kind this term.
Although he has a year remaining on his contract, it is unclear if the Dutchman will remain in charge beyond the summer.
talkSPORT’s Scott Minto speculated over Slot’s future during Sunday’s clash at Old Trafford, as he questioned how much longer the Reds boss will be given to turn things around on Merseyside.
Speaking on GameDay Live, Minto said: “I would sit down with him, I’d look in the whites of his eyes and say, ‘right, what you got? How much can we rely on you?’
“And actually I think recruitment perhaps need to think about themselves.
“If things don’t go well, we can’t rely on Arne Slot having a 60-70 per cent recruitment impact, because he might not be there come Christmas.”
