The following characters in NBA The Run are unavailable at the start and can be unlocked in the following ways:

1. Shen Tong – Reach Rank 5
2. Destiny Jackson – Reach Rank 15
3. El Gigante – Reach Rank 25
4. Spin Cycle – Reach Rank 35
5. Bobbito Garcia – Reach Rank 45
6. LeBron James ’03 – Purchase for 5,000 Cred in the Shop
7. Stephen Curry ’09 – Purchase for 5,000 Cred in the Shop OR Deluxe Edition Bonus
8. Kevin Durant ’07 – Purchase for 5,000 Cred in the Shop OR Deluxe Edition Bonus
9. Luka Doncic ’18 – Purchase for 5,000 Cred in the Shop OR Deluxe Edition Bonus
10. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ’18 – Purchase for 5,000 Cred in the Shop

NBA The Run Rank, Explained

Firstly, the top five characters in this list are non-NBA players who you need to unlock by just playing the game. Once you reach certain ranks, you unlock these characters. But how do you check your Rank? Head to the Profile Section and it should automatically jump to the Rank Unlocks Page.

On this page, you’ll see your current rank, as well as what you can unlock with each one. Overall, NBA The Run features 50 ranks of rewards to unlock, five of them being characters you can play with. Each character boasts their own unique stats, making each one feel different on the court.

To Rank Up, simply play NBA The Run to get XP. Longer tournament runs yield more XP, so try your best to stay in the game. The more XP you get, the more Rank rewards you will earn.

Earning Cred

Additionally, you’ll also gain Cred when you play games and Rank Up. This is the currency you’ll need to unlock things from the Shop. You can use Cred to buy taunts, cosmetics, badges, etc. However, you can also use it to buy players. Each player in the shop costs 5,000 Cred, meaning you’ll need to earn 25,000 Cred to get every throwback NBA player.

Fortunately, if you own the Deluxe Edition, you receive Rookie variants for Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, and Kevin Durant. Additionally, you’ll receive 1,000 Cred to start the game with, helping you in your effort to save Cred for more ballers.

This means you’ll only need to unlock LeBron and SGA’s rookie variants, making it much easier to obtain everyone. Like the non-NBA players, these rookie variants also boast their own stats.
