MMA fighter who had ear bitten reveals shocking number of stitches needed to fix injury

Vaclav Mikulasek has revealed needing 28 stitches after he was bitten during an MMA fight in the Czech Republic.

Mikulasek met Pavol Vasko in a ‘custom rules’ fight for the main event of Clash MMA 15 on Saturday, two months after the latter was disqualified in their first meeting.

Just seconds into the no-limit first round, Mikulasek attempted a takedown but was held up by Vasko, who proceeded to channel his inner Mike Tyson on Evander Holyfield by latching on to his opponent’s ear with full force.

Both men collapsed to the ground before Mikulasek quickly got up, screaming in pain while cupping his right ear as the referee called an end to the contest.

Mikulasek’s ear was completely covered in blood, with replays showing Vasko took a massive bite before eventually letting go.

The footage was evidently shown on the big screens at Brno’s Winning Group Arena as fans grew outraged at what happened to the home fighter and started to attack Vasko when he left the cage.

Objects and chairs were hurled at Vasko as he attempted to leave the arena, with several raging fans chasing after him.

One even went as far as to go after Vasko right up the entrance ramp, clocking the Slovakian fighter with a left hand in what was turning out to be a huge brawl.

Vasko eventually scrambled his way up the ramp surrounded by security, but not before someone who appeared to be a female fighter at the end landed a kick to the sternum.

The shocking scenes at the event have got the entire MMA world talking, with the majority of fans saying Vasko deserved it for such a disgusting act.

Mikulasek took to Instagram on Sunday to react to the chaos after his fight.

“I apologise, I’m not in the mood to deal with this today,” he said in a translated post from Czech.

“I’m sorry for what happened after the fight between the spectators, and that some people were offended for no reason.

“I guess none of us want these things to happen.”

He later joked: “People, he bit off my ear.

“If you want to know how it hurt, about 100 times more than the dentist!”

Mikulasek has since looked extremely upbeat in the days following the incident when talking about it on social media.

He confirmed on a post by Happy Punch that he got 28 stitches in the hospital.

The Czech star has since had his bandages removed and stitches clearly show exactly where Vasko bit him, with his ear very puffy and red.
