Dana White fires back at Eddie Hearn as war of words over Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury goes on

Dana White has labelled Eddie Hearn a ‘fruit loop’ as their war of words rumbles on.

The UFC president has claimed he will be promoting Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury later this year.

However, Hearn has laughed off those suggestions as he hit back at White online.

Their back-and-forth continued on Saturday as White responded to his rival’s latest remarks.

Joshua and Fury will finally face-off in their long-awaited heavyweight bout once the former has come through his next fight.

The 36-year-old will take on Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ahead of the fight, White claimed on a livestream last week that he would promoting the all-British affair.

He explained: “This is the busiest year of my career. I’m going to be travelling everywhere.

“I’m focused on Zuffa Boxing hardcore this year, signing all these guys and putting on great fights.

“We did a deal with Sky in the UK. There will be great fights on Sky. I’m doing the Tyson Fury – AJ fight, too. I’m going to be promoting that.”

Hearn was quick to shut down the suggestion, though, as he responded on social media.

Taking to Instagram, the promoter wrote: “Such a clout chaser, not a chance. Contractually impossible. Let me know when you find your balls.”

White’s X-rated rant

Those comments were put to White on Saturday night during his post-fight press conference at UFC 328.

He told reporters: “This fruit loop came out and said he’s the f****** biggest fight in boxing while he has (Jesse) ‘Bam’ Rodriguez and Anthony Joshua and all the other guys that are out there.

“He’s the biggest fight in boxing? Those are his words, you know what a f****** fruit loop you’ve got to be to say that?

“Nobody knew who this guy was four months ago and now he’s the biggest fight in boxing? I hope I answered your question.”

When asked to clarify whether he would be promoting Joshua vs Fury, he added: “I don’t know, let’s see what happens. Do I ever say s*** that really isn’t true that doesn’t happen?”

White’s Zuffa Boxing promotion signed a long-term broadcasting deal with Sky Sports in March.

Meanwhile, Hearn has been Joshua’s promoter since 2013, whilst Fury is represented by Frank Warren.

The Gypsy King’s promoter previously revealed to talkSPORT that Wembley Stadium was being targeted to host the contest in October.

Joshua has fought at the venue on several occasions in his career, most recently when he was beaten by Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

The two-time heavyweight world champion also beat Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium nine years ago.

As for Fury, he claimed a technical knockout win over Dillian Whyte the last time he fought at the venue in 2022.
