Abbi Summers storms out of studio after ‘disgraceful’ dramatic decision in Arsenal game
talkSPORT’s Abbi Summers stormed out of the talkSPORT studio after West Ham’s late equaliser against Arsenal was ruled out by VAR.
The Gunners thought they had conceded a last-gasp goal as Callum Wilson slammed home during the dying moments on Sunday.

However, after a long VAR check which ended with referee Chris Kavanagh watching on the pitchside monitor, it was disallowed for a foul on David Raya.
And that meant Mikel Arteta‘s side remained 1-0 up thanks to Leandro Trossard’s strike, as Arsenal went on to regain their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with just two games to play.
The VAR decision was labelled ‘the biggest in history’ while ex-Arsenal winger Perry Groves admitted his old side ‘got away with it’.
But it was an arm from West Ham’s Pablo that stretched across Raya and forced him to make an error that led to the goal being ruled out.
It has caused a huge debate – however, it’s very clear what Tottenham fan Summers thought of the decision as it happened.
As the check was ongoing, a furious Summers shouted during talkSPORT’s Goals Show: “It’s a goal and if anything it’s a penalty on [Konstantinos] Mavropanos! Do me a favour! You can’t rule this out!”
Each person in the room then waited tensely for the decision to be made by Kavanagh as he returned from the monitor.
And when the goal was disallowed, Summers decided she had had enough and walked out of the talkSPORT studio.
“This is a joke,” she exclaimed. “That is the biggest disgrace…”
A few moments later, Summers returned but was left fuming, waving her arms around in disbelief.

Host Sam Ellard then pointed out: “You’ve got three Arsenal players wrestling West Ham players to the ground!”
“It’s absolutely insane!” Summers then said. “I can’t believe it.”
‘Where’s the consistency?’
West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen was also left dumbfounded by VAR ruling out Wilson’s late goal for a foul on Raya.
He told BBC Sport post-match: “When you look at the screen for five minutes, you’ll find something – a lot of grappling and a lot of holding. I’m sure if you look long enough, you’ll find something.
“Do I think it’s the right decision? No.
“Where’s the consistency? As a fan, you don’t want to celebrate a goal and then wait eight minutes and it’s taken off you.

“Corners are physical. The Premier League is physical. That’s why everyone loves it. You have to expect contact at corners.
“If you give that, you have to give all the holding calls in the world and that’s not the way people want the game to go down.
“I don’t want to sound bitter, but last week we had one with Tomas Socuek held at Brentford and we didn’t get a penalty.
“But then you can’t give one like that today.”
The disallowed goal and defeat for West Ham leaves them on the brink of relegation to the Championship, especially if Tottenham beat Leeds on Monday evening, live on talkSPORT.
As for Arsenal, they know that two more wins mean the Premier League title is theirs – and if Manchester City slip up in any of their final three fixtures, then they may not even need that.
