Mitchell Robinson’s trainer blasts ‘scared’ Mike Brown after Knicks’ Game 3 disaster vs. Hawks
After playing just 11 minutes in the New York Knicks’ Game 3 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, center Mitchell Robinson‘s trainer is calling out head coach Mike Brown.
His trainer, Marcell Scott Jr., called Brown out on his Instagram Stories after the Knicks’ latest loss (via New York Basketball on X, formerly Twitter). Scott alleged that the coach is “scared to get mad.”
“Knicks Coach Mike Brown is SCARED to get mad!!!” Scott said. “He’s too nice of a guy to coach the New York Knicks!!! He would rather play OG [Anunoby] at the 5, instead of KAT and Mitch at the 4 and 5. Nice guys finish last[,] Coach! GN.”

In his limited playing time, Robinson scored one basket and had four rebounds. He also had a steal, but his +/- was -18 during his 11 minutes on the floor.
Mike Brown addressed Mitchell Robinson’s lack of minutes after the Knicks’ Game 3 loss to the Hawks

After Game 3, Brown was asked about utilizing Robinson and Karl-Anthony Towns. However, he doesn’t seem keen on playing them together on the floor “because of the matchups” in the series.
He conceded that he would love Robinson’s minutes to be “higher,” but that comes at the cost of Towns’ minutes or by having him on the floor at the same time as KAT.
Mike Brown is asked if he'd like to get Mitchell Robinson more minutes:

“The combination of [KAT and Robinson] hasn’t been great, so I’m choosing to not play them together in this series a lot because of the matchups,” Brown explained. “It’s a choice. But I’d love Mitch to play 25 minutes, and I’d love KAT to play 32 to 34 [minutes], but then you’ve got to deal with those other two things I was talking about.”
Now, the Knicks head into Game 4 down 2-1 in the series. They have lost their last games to the Hawks by one point each, and time is ticking for New York to figure things out.
During the regular season, Robinson averaged 19.6 minutes per game, which was higher than his 2024-25 total (17.1). However, KAT, who averaged more than 20 points a game, averaged 31 minutes per game during the 2025-26 regular season.
