Minnesota Timberwolves vs Phoenix Suns odds, predictions, and betting tips – Timberwolves on big win streak
With just three games for this upcoming NBA slate, we’re taking a look at the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the Phoenix Suns, a Western Conference battle.
The Timberwolves have won five straight, while the Suns are 13-10 and coming off a loss to the Houston Rockets.
Now, let’s check out this Tuesday morning edition of the NBA in more detail below.
Timberwolves vs Suns best bets
- Anthony Edwards 4+ three-point field goals made – Evens with BetMGM
- Royce O’Neale under 10.5 points – 10/13 with bet365
- Mark Williams over 11.5 points – 5/6 with Paddy Power
The Suns are coming off a road loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday, falling to them, 117-98. Before that, they’ve been exchanging wins and losses and haven’t won two games in a row since Nov. 21 and Nov. 23.
They’ll be without Isaiah Livers, Devin Booker, Jalen Green, and, more than likely, Dillon Brooks in this matchup. Thus, this is a bit of a patchwork starting five with players like Grayson Allen, Collin Gillsepie, Royce O’Neale, Mark Williams, and others.
The Suns do lead the league in steals per game at 10.9, but they’ve allowed opponents to shoot 56% over their last three games (30th) and are surrendering 118.3 points per game in that span (21st).
As for the Timberwolves, they sit at 15-8 and have won five straight, beating the Los Angeles Clippers, the New Orleans Pelicans (twice), the San Antonio Spurs, and the Boston Celtics.
Before that, they lost 113-105 to the now 23-1 Oklahoma City Thunder. As for injuries, the Timberwolves are fully healthy. They’re fourth in the NBA in three-point shooting percentage (38.9%).
Timberwolves vs Suns preview
While the Suns topped the Timberwolves back on Nov. 21, they had Booker, Brooks, and Livers on the court. Livers played just three minutes, but Booker and Brooks combined for 38 points. Now, they’re definitely without Booker, and it’s not looking good for Brooks.
As mentioned, the Suns are allowing opponents to shoot 56% over their last three games, while the Timberwolves are tied for the sixth-best shooting percentage at 48.6%.
Without their key players, I have a hard time seeing a path for the Suns to make up for their production enough to stay within nine points.
I’ll go with the Timberwolves -9.5.

Spread Odds Minnesota Timberwolves -9.5 22/25 Phoenix Suns +9.5 10/11 Total points Odds Over 224.5 10/11 Under 224.5 10/11
The Suns are dealing with several injuries, including some of their top scorers. The Suns’ defence has allowed a 56% shooting percentage over their last three games, the worst in the NBA. A spread of 9.5 points makes sense here.
Anthony Edwards 4+ three-point field goals made
This season, Edwards is averaging 8.1 3-point tries per game, and he’s made 3.4 of them, resulting in a shooting percentage of 41.6% from beyond the arc.
Over their last three games, the Suns are allowing opponents to shoot 50.65% from beyond the arc, the highest in the NBA.
Additionally, Edwards has made four 3-point shots or more in three of his last five games.
So, he has a recent track record, is averaging 3.4 per game, and the Suns have been atrocious against 3-point shots.
I’ll certainly take a chance at Evens on this one.
Back Anthony Edwards to have 4 three-point shots or more against the Suns at Evens with BetMGM
Royce O’Neale under 10.5 points
O’Neale will be in the starting lineup, but even with that, I’m not confident in his scoring ability. In their last game, he played just 19 minutes against the Rockets, but didn’t have a single point.
In the game before that, he had only 6 points in 33 minutes.
O’Neale shoots a lot of 3-pointers, and this season the Timberwolves are holding opponents to 35.4% from beyond the arc, which ranks 10th in the NBA.
I’m taking the under.
Back Royce O’Neale to finish with 10 points or fewer against the Timberwolves at 10/13 with bet365
Mark Williams over 11.5 points
Williams has scored 12 points or more in four of his last five games, and now, he’s taking on a Timberwolves team that he scored 19 on across 26 minutes.
In that game, the Suns had Brooks and Booker, but they’ll be without both of them in this game, allowing more opportunities for Williams.
He’s surpassed this line in four of his last five games and went well over this mark against this team just a few weeks ago.
Back Mark Williams to have 12 points or more against the Timberwolves at 5/6 with Paddy Power
