Memorial Tournament 2026 betting preview

The Memorial Tournament is the latest PGA Tour Signature Event which means a world-class field of 72 heads to Ohio.

It’s also the PGA Tour stop which honours the great Jack Nicklaus – the winner of more men’s golf majors (18) than anyone in history.

Muirfield Village is Nicklaus’ most famous design and he named it after his favourite Open venue. Jack won the Claret Jug at Muirfield in 1966 and was runner-up in 1972.

It’s obviously a very different test to the one in Scotland as this is a tree-lined parkland layout with fast-running bentgrass greens.

Par is 72 at the course which measures 7,569 yards and for the last two years Nicklaus has been waiting behind the 18th green to congratulate Scottie Scheffler.

The World No.1 won by four shots last year and by a single stroke in 2024.

He’s just 16/5 for a three-peat while Rory McIlroy, whose best here is third, is 10/1.

Memorial Tournament 2026 betting tips

Here are some key betting tips and insights for the Memorial Tournament 2026.

🏌️‍♂️ Tommy Fleetwood can shine in Ohio

Scheffer may be hard to beat and several firms are offering markets ‘without’ the World No.1.

And that could be a strategy worth following as Scheffler must surely win again soon after a string of near misses.

The one to play is Tommy Fleetwood, who finished in the top five at last month’s Truist Championship the week before the US PGA.

The Englishman has five top 10s in his eight starts in non-majors this season and looks close to a big week.

True, he didn’t make it to the weekend at the US PGA but note that the last two times he missed a cut in any event, Fleetwood got back on the horse and finished runner-up on his very next start.

Fleetwood has finished 16th and 20th in the last two editions of Memorial and they should be useful markers for a trophy bid this week.

🏌️‍♂️ Jordan Spieth to beat Harris English in match bet

Jordan Spieth looks close to putting everything together and Muirfield Village is a good course for him.

The three-time major winner has finished fifth and seventh in two of the last three editions and he’s made the top 20 here in six of his last eight visits.

I’ll take him to beat Harris English in a match bet.

The veteran has missed two of his last four cuts at Memorial so doesn’t have the same consistency Spieth boasts at this venue and, in fact, English hasn’t broken 70 at Muirfield Village since 2015.

He’s in steady form too but Spieth’s superior course record gives him the edge.

🏌️‍♂️ Sepp Straka for Top 10

Sepp Straka popped back to his birthplace to finish 12th in last week’s Austrian Open and he can take it up a notch now back on the PGA Tour.

Straka, who moved to the States when he was 14, loves Jack’s event and showed it with finishes of third last year and fifth in 2024.

A runner-up at Pebble Beach earlier this year and fourth at May’s Cadillac Championship, Straka is worth a punt at 4/1 with Betfred to finish in the top 10.
