World number one Judd Trump heads into the quarter finals of this year’s Masters as the current 9/4 favourite for victory following his 6-2 victory Ding Junhui in the first round, setting up a quarter final tie with Mark Allen.

The 36-year-old faces stiff competition in his bid for a third Masters title, notably from reigning world champion Zhao Xintong. The 28-year-old brushed aside Gary Wilson 6-2, which is bizarrely the scoreline all eight opening round matches finished, to set up a tasty looking quarter final clash with two-time champion John Higgins.

The other side of the draw sees two-time champion Neil Robertson, arguably the most in form man in the world and leader of the one-year ranking list, take on 2024 world champion Kyren Wilson in the quarter final, who is still looking for his first Masters title.

Two Chinese players who upset the odds to reach the last eight of this year’s edition will face off against each other in the other quarter final, as Wu Yize takes on Xiao Guodong after each getting the better of defending champion Shaun Murphy and three-time champion and reigning UK Champion Mark Selby respectively.
