Man Utd v Tottenham 12/1 Bet Builder tip plus get £50 in free bets with Betfred
Can Michael Carrick score a fourth straight victory in charge of Manchester United?
The interim boss has begun life in the Old Trafford dugout in a blaze of glory, securing wins against local rivals Man City, arch-rivals Arsenal and a last-gasp victory over Fulham to send United fans into delirium.
This weekend, there’s another highly-charged matchup as they welcome Tottenham to Old Trafford on Saturday lunch time.
talkSPORT have teamed up with Betfred to bring readers a bet builder on the big Premier League clash – which you can add straight to your bet slip here.
Manchester United to win – United have won all three of their matches with Michael Carrick at the helm. While Spurs haven’t picked up a league victory in 2026.
Matheus Cunha to score – Cunha is in his best run of form in a United shirt, bagging three goals in his last five matches, including the winner against Arsenal. The Brazilian is Carrick’s main man in front of goal right now.
Joao Paulinha to be carded – The Tottenham midfielder has picked up a booking in two of his last four appearances. Paulinha has been tasked with holding the fort in a team decimated by injuries – but it’s coming at a price.
Dominic Solanke to have 1+ shot on target – Since Solanke returned to the Spurs starting eleven, the England man has scored four goals in five games – including THAT scorpion kick against Man City.
This latest run of victories has catapulted Manchester United into fourth-place and to the top of the Champions League chasing queue which includes Chelsea and current Premier League champions Liverpool.
But the Red Devils are still leaky at the back, conceding eight goals in their last four matches across all competitions. Spurs have been patchy all season but with Solanke leading the charge and Xavi Simons’ recent uptick in form, both sides will have reasons to believe they can get all three points.
It’s felt at times this season like Thomas Frank is just one game away from the sack, despite only being appointed Tottenham head coach last summer. Fans appear dissatisfied with the team’s performances in the league, exacerbated by their 17th placed finish last campaign.
However, after placing fourth in the Champions League phase, their European exploits should give them confidence to turn their league campaign around – in spite of their injury list.
Frank will hope their inspired second half showing against Man City will give fresh impetus to his players and halt United’s forward momentum too.
Carrick’s riding a big red wave of hysteria. Drawing big praise for re-introducing Kobbie Mainoo and reverting to a back four which has reaped rewards in his first month in charge.
United had gone out all other domestic cups before Carrick’s arrival, which has allowed him the time to embed his ideas to a squad desperate for new direction.
However, Spurs famously beat United in the Europa League final in Bilbao in 2024/25, and the meeting in November ended in a 2-2 draw.
That point put Spurs in third, while Man United were seventh. Things have changed drastically since then. A win for either this time around, could be the tangible turning point in their seasons.
