Liverpool and Newcastle were both in action in crucial Champions League games on Wednesday night.

Newcastle had an away trip to the Parc Des Princes in Paris to face PSG and did well to come away with a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool were at home to Qarabag where they beat them 6-0, a great response to that surprise 3-2 loss to Bournemouth last weekend.

The Reds thought they had the equaliser thanks to a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick but Amine Adli came up with a last second winner in the 95th minute to stun last year’s champions.

That extended Liverpool’s run without a win in the Premier League to five, since a 2-1 victory at home to Wolves.

Since then they’ve drawn to Leeds, Fulham, Arsenal and Burnley, looking destined for a fifth straight draw but lost out on all points to the Cherries.

They will be looking to recover some of those dropped points now and with a good run of UCL form behind them it could spur them on.

Hugo Ekitike is still in great scoring form and was involved in one of the goals against Qarabag on Wednesday night to help his case.

Sandro Tonali has been carded three times already this season and could be up against it facing Liverpool’s plentiful attacking style.
