Julius Randle highlights Anthony Edwards’ ‘ability’ in Timberwolves’ stunner vs. Spurs
The Minnesota Timberwolves got a massive boost with the return of Anthony Edwards from his knee injury in Game 1 of their second-round series against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
Edwards helped the Timberwolves stun the Spurs, 104-102, at Frost Bank Center.
Edwards, who was expected to miss the first two games of the best-of-seven affair, came off the bench and tallied 18 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 25 minutes.
The four-time All-Star looked like in tip-top condition despite sitting out for over a week. After their win, Julius Randle touted Edwards’ resolve, as shown in the video posted by KSTP-TV’s Chris Long.
“For him to go out and do what he did, his ability to bounce back and give us whatever he had was huge. He made a lot of big shots,” said Randle.
Julius Randle's first comments after the #Timberwolves Game 1 win in San Antonio…
"We left a lot out there, to be honest. We can play a lot better. Our will to win got us through."

He also admitted that they did not play to their standards, but he was thankful that they survived.
“We left a lot out there, to be honest. We can play a lot better. But our scrapiness, our health, our hustle, just our will to win got us through,” said Randle.
He added that they read the game and adjusted on the fly, knowing how important it is to set the tone, especially since they do not have home-court advantage.
Randle had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Edwards, who talked smack to the Spurs in the first quarter, will only get better in the coming days. Surely, the Spurs are wary of that, and they will devise a plan to try to limit him.
But as Edwards has shown, he gets even more motivated when the stakes are high.
