Josh Hart reveals how ‘sense of urgency’ influenced Knicks’ Game 4 win over Hawks
The New York Knicks relieved some tensions among their fans by trouncing the Atlanta Hawks. Josh Hart dropped 10 points and came within one rebound of a double-double Saturday. And Hart won’t sugar coat it, Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs came with a “sense of urgency.”
Hart bluntly made that admission with reporters after the 114-98 rout.
“There was a sense of urgency there down 2-1. Giving away two games that we should’ve won,” Hart said.
His Knicks won’t relinquish that mindset either with the series returning to the Madison Square Garden.
“We had that sense of urgency from the jump and now we have to be ready to have that sense of urgency from the jump in Game 5,” Hart added.

Hart set off the defensive effort for NYK inside State Farm Arena. He helped force 10 early turnovers on the Hawks’ side off his defense and long arms. Hart swooped up two steals too and got Hawks head coach Quin Snyder believing he was guarding everyone on Atlanta.
Hart’s head coach Mike Brown raved about his defensive energy in the must-win Game 4.
“When he gets locked in, he’s locked in,” Brown began. “His defensive activity, especially when it comes to ball pressure, was fabulous tonight. He was really, really, really good on the ball and we needed every ounce of it.”

Hart didn’t just impact the game defensively, though. He handed the Knicks a long range shooting presence early on.

But Hart, again, applied the pressure defensively. Including on this Mikal Bridges transition dunk.

And he even called his own number by turning this defensive stop into offensive points for the Knicks.
