Joe Ingles makes big career decision after Timberwolves’ playoff elimination

The Minnesota Timberwolves saw their season end in the second round of the playoffs after falling to the San Antonio Spurs in six games. The Timberwolves were routed in Game 6 by 30 points, 139-109.

Minnesota failed to advance to the conference finals for the third straight time. It was a disappointing end to what seemed like a promising season, with Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, and Rudy Gobert leading the way.

Following their elimination, Joe Ingles made a big decision regarding his career. According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Ingles signed a two-year contract with Melbourne United in the National Basketball League (NBL).

The veteran forward will return to the NBL, where he played for four years with the Melbourne South Dragons before being signed by the Utah Jazz in 2014. He went undrafted in 2009 and played for several teams in Europe.

Ingles spent the last two seasons with the Timberwolves, playing sparingly off the bench. He, however, was instrumental in aiding the development of Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Terrence Shannon Jr., and his other young teammates.

In 12 seasons in the NBA, the 38-year-old Ingles averaged 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. He shot 40.9% from three-point range. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic.

He was well-liked everywhere he went because of his personality and sense of humor.

It will be nice to see Ingles, who grew up in Adelaide, finish his career where it all began, as he is an iconic figure in Australia.

Melbourne United finished in fifth place last season with a 20-13 record.
