Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by five wickets in the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Batting first, RR posted 193/8 in 20 overs, with Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag scoring half-centuries. Captain’s aggressive knock

Rajasthan Royals got off to a strong start, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi batting at a strike rate of over 200. During the middle overs, Dhruv Jurel and captain Riyan Parag stitched together a crucial 72-run partnership for the third wicket. Parag smashed 51 off 26 balls, including three fours and five sixes, at a strike rate of 196.15.


Century partnership by DC openers

Chasing a target of over 190, Delhi Capitals openers Abishek Porel and KL Rahul provided a solid foundation. The duo added 105 runs in just 61 balls for the opening wicket. Porel scored 51 off 31 deliveries, hitting seven fours and one six at a strike rate of 164.52, while Rahul made 56 off 42 balls, including one four and three sixes, at a strike rate of 133.33.


Archer & Brijesh tried to revive RR hopes

Although RR struggled with the ball for most of the innings, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma attempted to bring their side back into the contest. The duo struck with two quick wickets, dismissing Abishek Porel and Sahil Parakh, briefly tightening DC’s grip on the chase.
