Harry Kane backed for ‘special reunion’ with Tottenham by former teammate
Harry Kane is having a fun time smashing records with Bayern Munich in Germany.
However, former teammate Christian Eriksen is keen to see the England captain return to Tottenham for a ‘special reunion’.

Kane is in the midst of another breathtaking Bundesliga campaign after his relocation to Bavaria.
The 32-year-old has 30 goals in 25 appearances and Bayern lead Borussia Dortmund in the German top-flight by nine points – and are yet to lose a game.
They’re also second in the Champions League table, just three behind Arsenal – the only team to beat them.
In total, Kane has 115 goals in 121 games since his arrival from Tottenham in 2023.
It was an emotional cutting of ties between the two, having come through the club’s academy and gone on to become their all-time record goalscorer.
Kane has now won a title, winning the Bundesliga last year, finally ending a stunning career major trophy drought.
Even though the England superstar has been a huge success in Germany, there have consistently been reports they are succession planning, while also planning to offer him a new deal.
Nick Woltemade was a transfer target before his move to Newcastle, while Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko were also linked with moves in the summer.
Kane himself, meanwhile, has a £57million release clause in his contract that has seen Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea credited with interest.
But Eriksen who played with him for seven seasons between 2013 and 2020, is keen for Kane to return to his former club instead.

“I would love to see him back at Spurs,” Eriksen told The Times.
“From the outside, I would love to see that because it would be a special reunion both for him and the club.
“It’s his decision, right or wrong, but as a fan it would be fun to watch.”
An emotional return to Tottenham is something Eriksen himself did not get.
He left north London for Inter Milan in 2020 and was linked with a comeback almost two years later.
That came about when he was forced to leave the Italian giants having been fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) following a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

In the end, Brentford, with current Spurs boss Thomas Frank in charge, snapped up Eriksen on a free transfer, helping him kick-start his career.
However, despite the paper talk, Eriksen admitted there was no concrete interest from his ex-club, despite his desire to return.
He said: “I didn’t hear anything from Tottenham. I was thinking there was more a media interest than a club interest,” he said.
“To be honest, I would have loved to go back, but it didn’t happen, so it was OK.”
Currently, Tottenham could do with a creative midfielder like Eriksen, who managed 88 assists during his spell in N17.
Lacking a true midfield maestro as summer signing Xavi Simons gets to grips with English football, Frank’s Spurs are struggling.

But Eriksen, who knows his fellow Dane well, believes disgruntled fans need to give him time, even if their values are clearly not aligned with Frank favouring pragmatism over free-flowing football.
“First of all, he definitely has the capabilities to manage a big club,” he said.
“To build Brentford up and to keep that going for a long time, progressing every season, shows his ability. I’ve seen all the Spurs stuff now, turning on him and seeing the results, which is normal, you are in the [big] six, you have to win every game.
“But I’m sure he’s going to change it into his own way and make it something very positive because you have everything you need at Spurs, it’s just about getting it to click. I’m sure Thomas is the right man for it.
“The fans want to be entertained in a football way as well, which puts extra pressure on. It’s about winning games, but also how you go into the games.
“Thomas will read it and see where it goes. Often it’s the more defensive teams that win more trophies, let’s say that, but at the same time, that’s not how you go forward at Spurs. You need a bit of flair.”
