Even WWE COO Triple H was shocked by Brock Lesnar’s sudden WrestleMania retirement
Following his loss to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42, WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar seemingly retired after a career that has spanned over two decades.
This caught everyone off guard, including WWE COO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who implied that he wasn’t aware Lesnar was calling it a career quite yet. Talking to ESPN after the show, Triple H acknowledged that it “seemed” that Lesnar retired, but he also revealed that he didn’t “think that was a planned thing.”
“I think Brock went to the ring, he walked into a wall called Oba Femi. Brock walked walked up to the ‘Next Big Thing’ and ran into a brick wall, and the intelligence in him said, ‘Maybe I should call it a day,'” Triple H explained. “He took his boots off and he put his gloves down and he walked away.
“That is not a statement of Brock being afraid of it, that is an intelligent man meeting something that cannot be stopped. It is as much of a statement of Oba Femi as it is Brock Lesnar. You watched the changing of the guard at the apex of our business,” he continued.
Brock Lesnar seemingly retired after his WWE WrestleMania 42 loss

Lesnar lost to Femi in dominant fashion in the opening match of WrestleMania 42 Night 2. He was pinned after Femi hit him with a devastating chokeslam and powerbomb.
He laid in the ring for a few moments after Femi made his way backstage. When Lesnar came to, he took his gloves and boots off, a symbolic gesture in professional wrestling.
It was an extremely emotional moment. He began crying, as did Paul Heyman, who has been by his side for most of his career. They embraced as they made their way backstage.
Whether or not he is truly done remains yet to be seen. Lesnar could always come back, as he is known for his long hiatuses. However, this did seem definitive on his end.
