Enzo Maresca pushes for reunion with £40million Chelsea star at Man City
Manchester City are interested in signing Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, talkSPORT understands.
Incoming manager Enzo Maresca is pushing for a reunion with his former player.

The Italian is set to return to City as Pep Guardiola’s replacement after agreeing a three-year deal with the club.
It follows Guardiola’s decision to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of last season.
Maresca reunion
Maresca could now be followed to City from Chelsea by Gusto having left the Blues in January.
Chelsea are willing to listen to offers in excess of £40million for the France full-back this summer.
It comes after Manchester City expressed interest in Enzo Fernandez, who has become a serious target for Real Madrid.
The Blues are on the verge of signing a right-back this summer having hijacked Inter Milan’s move for Marco Palestra.
Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis are City’s existing options at right-back heading into the 2026/27 season.
Gusto currently has four years remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge having joined the club from Lyon in January 2023.
The 23-year-old previously made 72 appearances for Chelsea under Maresca.
He was also part of the side which won the Conference League and Club World Cup during his only full season as manager.

Gusto and Maresca could now be reunited at City ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
The former made 49 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season.
Meanwhile, he is currently part of France’s World Cup squad in North America.
Gusto won his 12th cap for his country off the bench in their win over Iraq on Monday.
City transfer plans
City are set for a busy summer after missing out on the Premier League title once again.
They finished seven points adrift of champions Arsenal despite winning both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Elliot Anderson is expected to complete a move to the club from Nottingham Forest.
City are closing in on the signing of the England international to bolster their midfield.
It comes after they saw a £121million bid rejected by Forest for Anderson.
Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva and John Stones will both leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the month.
