England vs Japan bet builder tip boosted to 11/2
England continue their preparations for the upcoming World Cup with a friendly against Japan on Tuesday, with the two teams set to meet at Wembley.
Both teams secured automatic qualification for this summer’s tournament and were in action last week in friendlies. England were held to a 1-1 draw by Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay, while Japan beat Scotland 1-0 at Hampden Park.
England and Japan come into the game in good form and it should be an entertaining encounter at the national stadium.

England to win
England produced one of their worst displays under manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday, but the German is expected to ring the changes for this week’s tie.
The likes of Harry Kane, Morgan Rogers, Elliott Anderson, Nico O’Reilly, Anthony Gordon, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Dan Burn and Dean Henderson were all left out of the squad on Friday and should be pushing to start.
Tuchel’s side are unbeaten in seven games, winning six, and they are unbeaten in four at home. The Three Lions have only lost two of their last 10 games on home soil and Japan should struggle to compete across the 90 minutes.
Over 2.5 goals
Tuchel appears happy to experiment in these friendly fixtures and that should lead to plenty of substitutions.
While England’s first XI should get the job done at Wembley, the game could open up in the second half.
Japan have every chance of finding the back of the net and are unbeaten in five games and they have scored 11 goals in games against Paraguay, Brazil, Ghana, Bolivia and Japan.
England should be able to grab at least two goals, though, having scored two or more in seven of their last 10 home matches since the European Championships in 2024.
Harry Kane to score first
England captain and Bayern Munich star Harry Kane should be back to lead the line on Tuesday and that should add some quality and consistency to the Three Lions’ attack.
Kane was rested against Uruguay and will look to add to his England tally and maintain his recent form that has fired Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga table.
The former Tottenham man has been Mr Reliable for England in recent years and he comes into the game in tremendous form. In qualifying, Kane netted eight goals in as many matches, while he has scored 14 goals in his last 10 appearances for Bayern.
Kane looks good value to score first, before Tuchel likely gives him a rest in the second half and tries to hand opportunities to fringe members of his squad.
