England squad numbers ‘leaked’ by FIFA – giving major hint over World Cup starting XI

Many will interpret the numbers as a big hint towards Thomas Tuchel‘s starting XI this summer.

Marcus Rashford has been given the number 11 shirt over rival Anthony Gordon, who is No.18.

The pair are battling to start on the left-wing this summer.

As expected, Jordan Pickford takes the No.1 jersey while Harry Kane is in his usual No.9 and Jude Bellingham at No.10.

Elliot Anderson is likely to partner Declan Rice in midfield, and they’ve been given No.8 and No.4, respectively.

England’s squad numbers will be officially confirmed at 3pm.

This follows their involvement in European finals with Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Alex Scott, Jason Steele, Rio Ngumoha, Josh King and Ethan Nwaneri will attend the pre-tournament training camp in Florida.

Tuchel advised his England players to holiday in US time zones to acclimatise for the tournament.

It is understood several members of the England squad have holidayed in the USA and Caribbean since the end of their club campaigns.

Who are England playing at the World Cup?

England kick off their Group L fixtures against Croatia on June 17 in Dallas.

They then head to Boston to face Ghana before closing out the groups against Panama at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.

Tuchel is yet to lose a competitive match since taking charge at the start of 2025.

His side won all eight of their World Cup qualifiers without conceding a goal.
