Eddie Hearn watches on as Conor Benn outpoints Regis Prograis in bloody bout
Conor Benn proved too quick, too sharp and too youthful for an ageing Regis Prograis on Saturday night.
The two-time super lightweight champion looked every one of his 37 years as Benn repeatedly snapped back Prograis’ head en route to a one-sided unanimous decision win.

All three judges sided with Benn by margins of 98-92 as the Brit’s former promoter, Eddie Hearn, watched on from ringside.
The Matchroom Boxing chief remained stone-faced as the Netflix cameras panned to Hearn in an attempt to capture some form of a reaction after their acrimonious split.
Benn stunned the boxing world in February when he ditched long-time promoter Hearn for Dana White’s upstart promotion, Zuffa Boxing.
Hearn was informed of Benn’s decision via email and was denied a phone call with ‘The Destroyer’
The situation left a bad taste in Hearn’s mouth, who admitted he made a mistake in assuming Benn would ‘repay his loyalty’ for sticking by him during his lengthy legal battle over his two failed drug tests in 2022.
Story of the fight
In the end, Benn blocked out the noise and the gaze of his former promoter to pitch a near shutout over Prograis.
Benn put on another disciplined display, backing up Prograis behind a ram-rodding jab before rocking Prograis with a straight right at the end of the opening stanza.
And while he was well on top of the action, that was the only blow that truly troubled the American, who wore Benn’s shots well.
For the most part, it was target practice for Benn, who darted in and out of range, landing pot shots on his flat-footed foe.
The rugged veteran caught Benn with a few snapping backhands on the way in, but he spent most of the fight waiting too long for his chance to pounce.

Benn cut angles well and was the far more active fighter overall.
A nasty cut was opened up to the side of ‘The Destroyer’s’ right eyebrow after an accidental head clash in the third round.
The blood quickly began to trickle down the side of Benn’s face and turned his bleached blonde hair crimson red around the edges.
Besides the gash, Benn faced very little adversity in a fairly uneventful fight.
After the result was read out, Prograis informed Ring Magazine that he is now retired from boxing, bringing an end to a fruitful 14-year professional career, culminating in separate reigns as WBA and WBC 140lbs champion.
As for Benn, he will now look to book a mandatory fight with WBC champion Ryan Garcia following his lopsided win.
