‘Dream of mine’ – Snoop Dogg unveils plans to turn EFL club into ‘global name’ alongside ex-Real Madrid star
Iconic rapper and Swansea City co-owner Snoop Dogg has unveiled plans to turn the Welsh side into a ‘global name’.
The 54-year-old surprisingly became an investor in the Championship side after taking a minority stake in the club last July.

Snoop isn’t the only investor in Swansea City, with former Real Madrid midfielder and current AC Milan star Luka Modric, and TV personality Martha Stewart also involved in the club.
And the Long Beach-born singer told Wales Online he ‘always wanted to invest in a soccer team’ as he plans to play his part in re-establishing Swansea as a Premier League team.
“I want to be real hands on, I want to take the club in a direction maybe it hasn’t been before,” Snoop Dogg said.
“We want to take Swansea to the Premier League, and to do that we are going to need money – that’s the reality of the game these days.
“I want to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity that will make them a global name.”
Snoop is yet to attend a Swansea game, though his son, Cordell Broadus, was in the directors’ box for their 1-1 draw with Watford in August.
Stewart’s Swansea debut
Martha Stewart, meanwhile, watched live as Swansea claimed an entertaining 2-1 win over rivals Wrexham last month.
“I am sure many of you will have seen that Martha Stewart was among those in attendance (on Friday),” majority owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen said on the club’s official website after the narrow home triumph.
“Martha is a close friend of Snoop Dogg and she came to the Wrexham game as our guest.

“But we are delighted to confirm Martha, who has built a long and successful career as America’s leading homemaking and lifestyle expert, has followed Snoop and Luka Modric in becoming a minority owner of our football club.
“We are very excited to welcome Martha on board, and we know experiencing Friday night’s game in-person has only increased her own enthusiasm and anticipation for being part of Swansea City.”
Snooping around
Swansea have said that the west coast rapper is likely to take in a match live this season, though that has been no confirmation on when he will make the trip across the pond to visit the Swansea.com Stadium.
“For real I want to meet with the fans,” Snoop Dogg added.
“These fans are passionate, they are real, and I want to hear what they got to say when I am in Swansea.
“I knew I always wanted to invest in a soccer team – it’s been a dream of mine for years, it was all about waiting for the right opportunity.”
Swansea are enduring a testing Championship campaign and went into the weekend just seven points above the dropzone.
