Dodgers reach elite historic territory after dismantling Blue Jays

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their explosive start to their first road trip of the 2026 season with a blistering 14-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night at Rogers Centre, reaching rare historical territory in the process.

After managing just 23 runs across six games during their opening homestand, Los Angeles has completely reversed course offensively. The Dodgers have now scored 45 runs through their first four road games, the highest in that period since the 1900 Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds each recorded 49. Only four teams in MLB history have scored more runs over their first four road contests.

Los Angeles has scored at least eight runs in each of their first four road games, tying one of the best stretches in franchise history and leaving them one game shy of the team record for consecutive games with eight or more runs. They have also scored in 22 of 36 innings during the trip, with multiple runs in 12 different frames.

Rookie Dalton Rushing went 4-for-4 with two home runs, reaching base in all five plate appearances. It was his first career four-hit game and first multihomer effort. During his last five at-bats, Rushing has recorded hits each time, including three home runs, while reaching base in six consecutive plate appearances.

Teoscar Hernandez finished 2-for-5 with a walk and four RBIs, including a two-run homer in the first inning. Freddie Freeman hit a two-run shot and an RBI double, giving him six extra-base hits over his last five games. Shohei Ohtani continued his consistency, reaching base twice and extending his on-base streak to 41 games, tied for the ninth-longest in Dodgers history.

Los Angeles garnered 17 hits and five home runs in the win. On the mound, Justin Wrobleski allowed one run on two hits over five innings in his first start of the season, recovering after an iffy opening frame.

Next, Dodgers ace and World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the mound against Toronto right-hander Kevin Gausman on Tuesday.
