Dailyn Swain drops ‘in my head’ truth bomb on 1st Summer League game
The Chicago Bulls are in the throes of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, where the newbies get their feet wet. In the shadow of Caleb Wilson’s exploits sits fellow rookie Dailyn Swain out of Texas.
Swain struggled in his first game against the Memphis Grizzlies last Friday, finishing with 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in 22 minutes. The Bulls lost 97-96. During a Summer League practice, Swain was candid in assessing his performance, per Will Gottlieb of CHGO Bulls.
Swain admitted to feeling “super uptight” in playing point guard, but is looking ahead to the next game.
“It wasn’t really fun for me, I was just so in my head,” he said. “Next game, it will be more about enjoying it”

Swain is a shooting guard and a natural forward. Chicago is looking to develop him into a versatile playmaker as well as an effective ball handler. The dynamic of the Summer League is to test the waters of what it’s like to experiment with new skills. ,
In his last year at Texas, he averaged 17.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He shot 54.2% from the field and 34.4% from the 3-point line.
Swain was the No.15 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. At 6-foot-7, Swain fits into the SLAP (size, length, athleticism, and physicality) acronym established by VP of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham.
Swain brings to the table rim pressure, playmaking, two-way versatility, and shooting.
The Bulls will face the Utah Jazz in their second Summer League game on Monday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
