Constitution Hill huge drifter in exchange to run at Cheltenham Festival
Constitution Hill’s price on the exchange on whether he will run in the Champion Hurdle or not has seen a spectacular change after schooling this morning.
The Nicky Henderson-trained horse’s odds have completely flipped on the Betfair Exchange.

Having previously been likely to lineup at Cheltenham Festival next month at 4/7, he’s now been hammered in NOT to run in the Grade 1 feature race on Tuesday 10th March.
He’s now as big as 5/1 on the Exchange to feature in the race he won back in 2023.
This comes while there’s been a huge debate from trainer, connections and racing as a whole on where the superstar should run next.
Owner Michael Buckley currently wants to aim the horse at the Melbourne Cup.
Which would be a rare switch from a hurdler to a flat horse, but after his first flat win at Southwell the option is certainly there for the nine-year-old.

Constitution Hill conundrum
Constitution Hill has taken over horse racing as a household name after some of the most impressive victories we have ever seen.
The gelding looked to have legendary status confirmed and still probably will after his previous successes.
But in 2025, after some concern about being ready to return to the track, he did the unexpected as the 1/2 Champion Hurdle favourite, he fell.

He followed up with another fall and a very below par run that saw him finish far back in the field behind State Man at Punchestown.
Which prompted trainer Henderson to make the bold switch to see how he’d fare on the flat.
The horse is known for his incredibly cruising speed and ability to beat horses and it showed that was still there when rousing to victory by nearly ten lengths at Southwell.
Dan Skelton, trainer of potential Champion Hurdle rival The New Lion, suggested he would not “run Constitution Hill over hurdles ever again”.
Skelton also explained that Constitution Hill’s next run feels like a “racing decision that racing is going to have to carry”.
