Colorado and Deion Sanders land 4-star QB in massive move

It was a disappointing 2025 season for Deion Sanders and Colorado Football. After missing a bowl game, the news got worse for the team, as Colorado lost multiple players in the transfer portal.

Now, Colorado got some good news, this time on the College Football Recruiting front, bringing in a 4-star quarterback for the class of 2027, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

Four-star quarterback Andre Adams from Nashville, Tennessee, has committed to Colorado over Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Kentucky.

Adams took his time in his recruitment as the 165th-ranked overall recruit in the class of 2027. He nearly made a decision back in early February, but decided to reflect more. Ultimately, the decision came down to Colorado or Kentucky, with Adams taking late visits to both programs. The Buffaloes remained consistent in their pressure, and it paid off, according to remarks from Adams, provided by Chad Simmons of Rivals.

“Since last summer, Colorado has been a contender for me,” Adams said. “I just hadn’t been out there yet. They were one of my first offers, and they stayed consistent with me the whole time. Things really picked up with them late in the season and carried into the new year. They made me feel like a top guy.”

Adams then took his trip to Boulder to visit the program.

“That visit was huge for me,” he said. “One of the most important parts of my decision was taking that trip. If I had committed on April 11, like I had planned to, I probably wouldn’t have taken that visit. Without that trip, this commitment doesn’t happen.”

Adams also noted that Coach Sanders played a major role in his recruitment.

“He’s one of the most genuine coaches I’ve met. He keeps it real — not just telling you what you want to hear,” Adams said of his future head coach. “When he talks, you listen. He connected with me. I like how he does things — he’s as real as it gets.”

Adams is just the second commitment for the class of 2027, joining three-star defensive back Davon Dericho.
