Chris Eubank Jr’s manager pours cold water on comeback fight with hard-hitting KO artist
Chris Eubank Jr’s manager Elliot ‘Napper’ Amoakoh has dismissed his client’s chances of facing Edgar Berlanga.
Eubank Jr’s future in boxing was in doubt after he suffered a brutal rematch defeat at the hands of bitter rival Conor Benn last November.

He had revealed he had been struggling with an undisclosed medical condition behind the scenes, but is now eyeing a comeback in 2026.
It is expected he will return at 168lbs, and reports initially indicated that he was in talks to face Edgar Berlanga.
The hard-hitting Puerto Rican was making pleas to the Briton on social media and was confident he could agree a deal.
But ‘Napper’ has suggested there is no reason for Eubank Jr to face the KO artist, and insists it was nothing more than a marketing ploy from their camp.
“Edgar Berlanga is the guy who got knocked out by Hamzah Sheeraz,” he told Boxing King Media.
“Chris has got zero time for a fight with Edgar Berlanga. What is his best win?
“What the hell is Chris going to fight that for? Obviously in US so it is good for him saying Chris’ name.
“It’s not realistic at all, it doesn’t make any sense. Good luck to him and his marketing team but yeah.”
On Eubank Jr’s current fitness, he added: “He’s getting better.
“He’s ahead of where we’d like him to be, but he’s not at one hundred percent at all at the moment.

“Hopefully we can get him in a place where he can fight again at the end of the year.”
Chris Eubank Jr – who else could he fight?
For Eubank Jr, at this stage of his career, he is likely to instead search for the most lucrative paydays.
Kell Brook is set to make his comeback in a few months time, and ‘Next Gen’ has always insisted he is open to the bout.
He could also look to the top of the 168lbs division, where the likes of superstar Canelo Alvarez could be available.
Eubank Jr was looking towards the Mexican in the past, who has teased a blockbuster appearance on UK shores.
Newly crowned WBC champion Christian Mbilli has also offered a future shot if Eubank Jr is able to get back into shape.
