Chelsea vs Pafos FC predictions

Chelsea are the huge odds-on favourites for this match where their side far outmatches Pafos in value so of course they’d be tipped to win here.

Liam Rosenior will need a win here to ensure the faith from the Blues fans who continue to need the reassurance of his appointment.

Pafos sit in second in the Cypriot First Division so there’s a strong chance the new Blues boss can play out tactically here, implement some changes and use this as a bit of a fact finding mission.

Chelsea sit in 13th in the Champions League league phase firmly in the position for making it into the next round of play-offs.

But they’re also on the cusp making it straight into the knockouts, just two points behind Inter, Real Madrid and Atletico.

With the games coming thick and fast throughout December and January the starting lineup for Chelsea is likely to look a little different for this European outing.

Cole Palmer is set to be rested alongside Moises Caicedo, Marco Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, Reese James and Tosin Adarabioyo who all started against Brentford at the weekend.

Instead, Rosenior can call upon the large amount of players at his disposal and the likes of Liam Delap, Tyrique George, Andrey Santos, and a player the new boss is eyeing for more game time in general Benoit Badiashile after his injury.

George has just four Premier League appearances this year but was only seen eight times last year.

This season he’s already been booked twice and that could be something seen again in the UCL where the cards can flow early on.

Delap signed on from Ipswich Town in the summer but he’s played just 13 and scored once in the Premier League so far for the Blues.

But he’s also scored once in two appearances in this competition and looks likely to find more chances here.

Alejandro Garnacho scored twice against Arsenal last Wednesday in the EFL Cup semi-final and is set for another start after he returned to scoring form.

Joao Pedro will be the biggest goal threat though given his seven goals in 22 appearances in the league and is a firm starter for the Blues having established himself early on after his arrival from Brighton.

It’s likely all the attackers will get somewhat of a chance against Pafos so should be included in bet builders for some kind of attacking return as the Blues could be rampant.
