Cason Wallace’s ‘beatable team’ comments after Thunder’s Game 7 will turn heads

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace knows his team is capable of beating Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs, the defending champions, just came up short with the season on the line in Game 7. Despite Thunder All-Star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s masterful 35-point performance against the Spurs, San Antonio prevented Oklahoma City from cutting into its six-point deficit in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter.

After the loss, Wallace reflected on the Thunder’s shortcomings against the Spurs, reminding reporters of his team’s effort throughout the Western Conference Finals.

“They’re a good team. Beatable team,” Wallace said. “Obviously, we beat them. But we just got to do things better for longer periods of time.”

Thunder guard Cason Wallace, who started in Game 7 against the Spurs, finished with 17 points, including five triples, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
