Cade Cunningham drops eye-opening ‘two different games’ take after Pistons’ Game 4 loss
The Detroit Pistons looked as though they were on their way to winning their second-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2026 NBA Playoffs after winning the first two games at home.
However, the Cavs have returned the favor and tied the series at 2-2 with back-to-back victories in Cleveland, including an 112-103 triumph on Monday night.
Pistons star point guard Cade Cunningham lamented his team’s inconistent play in Game 4.
“We played two different games tonight, but it is what it is,” the former Oklahoma State Cowboys star said after the contest, via Jacob Richman of MLive.
“We can’t allow that to get to us. It’s part of the game, home team, you never know how it’s going to be,” added Cunningham, as the Pistons search for answers amid their slump.
The Pistons had a four-point lead at halftime of Game 4, but they could not find a solution to the Cavs’ attack in the second half, particularly to the one-man onslaught by Cleveland star guard Donovan Mitchell, who scored 39 points in the final 24 minutes of the contest and finished Game 4 with 43 points.
The 24-year-old Cunningham put up 19 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the field to go along with six assists and three rebounds, but his ball security was an issue, committing five turnovers. As a team, the Pistons had 20 turnovers, which Cleveland turned into 25 points.
Still, there is no reason for Cunningham and the Pistons to push the panic button, as they can turn things around at home in Game 5 on Wednesday.
