Bryson Graham sets stern championship expectations for Bulls after recent hire
Recently, the Chicago Bulls hired former Atlanta Hawks executive Bryson Graham to be the new leader of their front office regime. The Bulls cleared house in the front office and also saw head coach Billy Donovan depart after their tough 2025-26 season, which resulted in missing the postseason altogether.
Now, Graham has gotten 100% honest on the lofty aspirations he has for his time at the helm in the Windy City.
“We want to win championships and we want to build a culture and we’re going to do that with the right people,” said Graham, per KC Johnson of CHSN on X, formerly Twitter.
Johnson also spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans prior to his tenure with the Hawks, and is hoping to usher in the first era of respectable basketball in Chicago since Derrick Rose’s Achilles tear in the first round of the 2012 playoffs.
Over the last couple of years, the Bulls have assembled some semblance of a young core by acquiring Josh Giddey and drafting Matas Buzelis, but Chicago still appears to be multiple years away from contention, and that’s if everything goes according to plan.
One of the first major hurdles the Bulls will have to clear as the offseason continues is figuring out who their next coach will be. The team was reportedly more than happy to have Donovan back at that position, but the head coach departed on his own terms after missing the postseason this year.
It would certainly help Graham and the front office in their efforts to rebuild if the Bulls got some good luck when the NBA Draft lottery gets underway on Sunday, right at home in Chicago.
