Brooks Koepka couldn’t help but sneak a peak at Rory McIlroy’s $250k watch after their round together at the PGA Championship.

The superstar duo were paired for Saturday’s third round at Aronimink.

They are known to be good friends and clearly were very comfortable in each other’s company throughout moving day.

The two golfing giants were seen laughing and joking during the 18 holes and shared a warm embrace and another giggle while leaving the 18th green.

McIlroy was even seen alerting Koepka to his son, Crew, who was running behind them and eager to hug his dad.

One to watch

Once they were back in the scorer’s hut and finalising their cards, TV cameras picked up the moment where Koepka asked to look at McIlroy’s flashy watch.

It is understood to be an Omega Tourbillon, worth upwards of $250k, and was a gift from McIlroy to himself following his victory at the 2019 Tour Championship.

McIlroy won at East Lake that year by four strokes with Koepka actually coming in third.

The two may well have been sharing a memory about that event but either way, Koepka was clearly impressed with the timepiece, looking it over in detail before handing it back to its owner.

Koepka shot a two-under 68 on Saturday while McIlroy went two better, carding a 66, to put both in contention at Aronimink.

Koepka and McIlroy will see much more of each other following the former’s decision to return to the PGA Tour from LIV Golf.

Koepka has not yet qualified for the Signature Events so hasn’t played too many tournaments alongside McIlroy in recent weeks.

Koepka did come 12th at The Masters last month as McIlroy clinched back-to-back titles at Augusta.

The two will headline the upcoming 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Koepka is a two-time champion in the event while McIlroy won it in 2011.

Koepka performed well at the Myrtle Beach Classic in the week before the PGA Championship and revealed after that event that he has finally rediscovered his love for the game.

He said: “It’s been a long time since I’ve had fun playing golf.

“I was very frustrated last year. Just wasn’t in a good place, but I think a lot of times when you — it’s like anybody, right? If they’re happy off the golf course, they’re going to play well on the golf course.

“I think that’s a huge, huge piece of it, and I’ve found that.

“Refound my happiness, my love for the game. All the pieces are connected. It’s just now I’ve got to go out and go play.”
