The Bees were stung by Manchester United on Monday night, despite making enough chances to win the match at Old Trafford.

Keith Andrews side are bang in contention for European football next season. They sit ninth in the table but just two points behind sixth-placed Brighton. Only three points separate sixth with 11th placed Everton.

If Brentford can snap a run of six game winless run then they could make a big step towards a first ever European adventure.

Flip that on it’s head and the Bees had gone on a nine match unbeaten run over 11 games.

Igor Thiago may have misfired against United but he’s bagged 21 league goals and scored against West Ham earlier this season.

Over to East London and West Ham have a two-point cushion above the Premier League relegation places. The Hammers have only lost two of their last 10 league fixtures, drawing four.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are undefeated in four consecutive games in all competitions.

The East London outfit drew 2-2 with Brentford and 0-0 at Palace either side of a 4-0 home victory against Wolves.

The unbeaten run continued with a 2-1 home win against Everton. Tomas Soucek scored first and Everton equalised late before Callum Wilson struck a 92nd-minute winner.

But West Ham do have iffy away form. Having only won four of 17 away games in the 2025-26 Premier League.

Brentford had drawn the last five matches, but show no signs of being ‘on the beach’. Both sides are still fighting and you could see this one end in another stalemate on Saturday.

Low scoring draw

Before the defeat to Man United, Brentford had drawn their last five league matches.

Three of those matches ended 0-0 and with so much on the line in this game for both sides, it may be an edgy match with both teams being stubborn in defence.

West Ham’s 2-1 win over Everton has them the right side of the drop zone. But they have also drawn 0-0 with Crystal Palace and 1-1 with Man City in recent months.

The centre back partnership of Axel Disasi and Konstantinos Mavropanos has helped the Hammers keep the door shut for the most part at the back.

Igor Thiago has had a career-year in the Premier League this season. After suffering serious injury in the early part of his Brentford career. The Brazilian has caught fire in 2025/26 scoring over 20 league goals.

After fluffing his lines on Monday night, he will be intent on shooting his side into the top six, showcasing his lethal finishing.

Bowen to lead the Hammers charge

Jarrod Bowen has been pivotal to West Ham’s revival in 2026. He’s got nine assists since the turn of the year, compared to just one in the first half of the season.

Bowen got both assists in the last-gasp victory over Everton on Saturday. As well as three on the spin in February and March as they took valuable points from Fulham and Man City.

The Hammers skipper is standing up to the challenge and could well be the telling factor again this weekend.
