Brentford vs Arsenal predictions and betting tips – Gunners face derby test
Arsenal remain favourites for the Premier League title after a confident 3-0 victory over Sunderland at the weekend. The Gunners are now aiming to take another step closer to achieving their goal on Thursday evening.
Brentford are no pushovers, though, so Arsenal should not expect a straightforward 90 minutes at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Brentford vs Arsenal predictions
Arsenal took another step closer to the Premier League title at the weekend, easing past Sunderland in a 3-0 victory.
The Black Cats restricted Arsenal to few clear-cut chances in the first half, so it took a Martin Zubimendi strike from outside the box to break the deadlock.
Second-half substitute Viktor Gyokeres then helped himself to a brace to put the game beyond Sunderland and add another three points to Arsenal’s tally.
“Very, very happy obviously with the win, with big parts of the performance, with the clean sheet as well, because it’s a really tough opponent,” Arteta said when asked for his assessment of the game.
“They’re really good at what they do, really good at breaking play, playing to the last line, breaking your press, holding the ball, and it’s very difficult to get sequences with threat and momentum consecutively.
“But we knew that, I think the first goal really helped to unlock that kind of phase, and then again, the finishers, they came on the pitch and immediately they had a huge impact.”
At one point on Sunday afternoon it looked like it would be an even better weekend for Mikel Arteta’s team.
A stunning Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick gave Liverpool the lead in the 74th minute of their clash with Manchester City. Had the scoreline stayed that way, Arsenal would be nine points ahead of City.
Instead, Pep Guardiola’s men dug deep in the closing stages, scoring twice to turn the match on its head.
The gap between the top two therefore remains six points. However, Manchester City host Fulham 24 hours before this London derby at the Gtech Community Stadium. By the time Arsenal kick off on Thursday, their advantage could be down to three.
That would put pressure on the Gunners to respond. Having finished as runners-up in three consecutive campaigns, Arsenal are desperate to finally get over the line. But at times, notably in a 3-2 defeat by Manchester United last month, Arsenal have looked nervy. Arteta must do all he can to ensure his players remain calm.
Brentford are having a wonderful season. A 3-2 victory over Newcastle United moved them within four points of the Champions League qualification places.
Incidentally, Arsenal are the only team to have collected more points than Brentford over the last 10 rounds of Premier League fixtures.
Brentford vs Arsenal betting tips
Arsenal resume their Premier League title tilt against Brentford on Thursday night.
Arsenal to take care of business
This is something of a free hit for Brentford. The pressure is all on Arsenal, and anything the Bees get from this match is a bonus.
That makes them dangerous. Brentford are a physical side and Arsenal will have to stand up to that challenge, while also ensuring they play their own game.
The Gunners will not have everything their own way on Thursday and we do not expect them to win this one comfortably.
But if you want to be champions, this is the sort of game in which you cannot afford to drop points. By hook or by crook, Arsenal should get the job done in west London.

Clean sheets elusive?
Arsenal are the best defensive team in the Premier League.
Arteta’s men have conceded the fewest goals (17), given up the fewest shots (190) and kept the most clean sheets (13) this term. This is a team which does not give much away.
Yet there is reason to believe Brentford will find the back of the net. They have scored 18 times in their last 10 games, a tally bettered by only four teams over that period.
They are particularly effective at home, having scored 23 goals in 12 encounters in front of their own supporters.
Arsenal are bound to score too, so goals at both ends is a sensible selection.

Thiago the value pick
Brentford have done it again. A club which routinely loses its star attacker (think Ollie Watkins, Neal Maupay, Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa) has a knack for securing a replacement who often does even better.
Enter Igor Thiago. Signed by the Bees in the summer of 2024, he endured an injury-hit start to his time at the Gtech.
The Brazilian is making up for lost time this season. His strike against Newcastle last time out moved him onto 17 goals for 2025/26. Only Erling Haaland has made the net bulge more often.
At the odds available and with the form he is in, it is well worth backing Brentford’s No.9 to make his mark against Arsenal.
