Belgium vs Tunisia predictions

Belgium have gone under the radar ahead of World Cup 2026, but they will not mind that at all.

When the country’s golden generation was competing at tournaments, the Red Devils were often among the favourites to go all the way.

At World Cup 2018 they almost did, losing narrowly to eventual champions France in the semi-finals. But four years ago in Qatar, Belgium suffered a group stage exit, marking the end of an era in disappointing fashion.

That was their last tournament with Roberto Martinez at the helm. He was replaced by Domenico Tedesco, who has since been succeeded by Rudi Garcia.

A few members of the golden generation remain ahead of World Cup 2026. Thibaut Courtois is back in the fold after dropping out of the national team setup under Tedesco. Axel Witsel and Kevin De Bruyne are still available in midfield, while Romelu Lukaku remains the go-to centre-forward when fit.

That experienced core is supplemented by a younger group. Zeno Debast, Jeremy Doku, Charles De Ketelaere and Amadou Onana were all junior players in Qatar four years ago. This summer, they are all hoping to start.

Belgium are 10th-favourites to lift the trophy at the time of writing. That feels about right, but optimists will point to an unbeaten qualification campaign and a relatively kind group stage draw as reasons why Garcia’s men might be able to exceed expectations.

Belgium beat Croatia 2-0 away from home in their first warm-up of the summer. It is unwise to put too much stock in pre-tournament friendly results, but Garcia will have been pleased with how his side performed. Now Belgium turn their attention to Tunisia.

Belgium vs Tunisia betting tips

Belgium and Tunisia go head-to-head in Brussels as the two teams continue to prepare for World Cup 2026.

More joy for Red Devils?

Tunisia breezed through an admittedly straightforward qualification group in Africa, taking 28 points from a possible 30.

However, their showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations was below par, as the Eagles of Carthage were eliminated by Mali in the round of 16.

Tunisia, who will face Sweden, Japan and the Netherlands in Group F of the World Cup, are aiming to reach the round of 32, but that will not be easy.

This friendly will not be either. Belgium are favourites and we anticipate another victory by a two-goal margin for Garcia’s group.

Belgium seek early lead

This is Belgium and Tunisia’s final match before they begin their World Cup campaigns, so Garcia and Sabri Lamouchi are likely to have a good look at as many players as possible.

A host of changes at the break is a distinct possibility, so we may learn more from the first half than the second.

Tedesco opted for a back three against Croatia, but he is likely to shift to a 4-2-3-1 formation on this occasion.

Belgium held the lead at half-time in their victory in Rijecka and they will fancy their chances of being ahead after 45 minutes here too.

De Bruyne will threaten

Kevin De Bruyne will be key to Belgium’s chances of a successful summer.

The 34-year-old is no longer in his prime, but he is still capable of influencing matches at the highest level of the game.

His versatility makes him even more useful. De Bruyne is capable of playing as a No.8 or a No.10, while in the 3-4-2-1 Garcia used against Croatia, the former Manchester City man was deployed as an inside forward.

De Bruyne is our pick to find the back of the net when Belgium host Tunisia at the Stade Roi Baudouin in Brussels.
